Van Wert County Hospital Opens Balanced Pain Management CenterFebruary 22nd, 2016
Van Wert, Ohio-Pain Management Group (PMG) has partnered with Van Wert County Hospital to open a balanced Pain Management Center in Van Wert, Ohio. The goal of the program is to empower patients to return to their daily activities that are currently inhibited by pain. Staying in contact with the patient’s primary care physician, the provider along with the staff at the pain management center care for patients’ diagnoses for the duration of their pain.
The Van Wert Hospital Pain Management Center opened its doors on February 29th. The Pain Center is located at the Van Wert County Hospital Health Center, 140 Fox Road Suite 103, in Van Wert, OH.
At the Van Wert Hospital Pain Management Center, John Buonocore, DO diagnoses acute and chronic pain by using a balanced approach to pain management. Creating an individual care plan tailored to each patient, he incorporates options such as minimally invasive interventional procedures, medication management, and other services in the community like physical therapy. Common diagnoses are neck and back pain, including work-related injuries and sciatica; persistent pain after back or neck surgery; arthritis pain in neck or lower back; Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS); nerve damage or muscle spasm pain; shingles pain and headaches.
Dr. Buonocore performs all interventional procedures locally at Van Wert County Hospital. Common procedures include epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections, selective nerve root blocks and radiofrequency ablations.
Dr. Buonocore was fellowship trained in pain management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He is board certified by The American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
